Etymology

I find it interesting to read about etymology these days. I started learning English by reading about the history of English words first. The words I try to memorize never stay in my brain. I forget them right away. I've been feeling completely at sea. If I know the history of words, then it seems to me that it is a bit easier to memorize than just spending time staring at the words. At least it's interesting to read...to me .Words have been developed in our lives, I think. So, by reading the history of the words, I feel I see the way people's lives have changed also.
